"Water Gods Control the Seas"
For this project, I photographed a flat screen that had been installed at a new bus stop in Manhattan. There was an error message from the computer in the middle of the screen as a trailer for a show was playing on the screen. I thought the images were riveting and found it interesting how the error message just stubbornly "sat" in the middle of the screen as this amazing footage played on the screen. I was interested in capturing the images with my camera in a "still like" fashion. I then cut the error message out of the photos and "folded" the images together to create a new image All in all, I have about sixty images from this project that I would like to show. Please contact me @ aplupiani@gmail.com if you are interested in showing this work in your gallery/space.

Public Art Project. - FlamNatur

This is a mock up (photoshop) rendering of a public art project I plan to develop in the near future. The project is called "FlamNatur" and it's based on the idea of using a self styled logo, and embedding it into the urban landscape. I see so many unclaimed monumental public spaces out there in NYC, so I figured I would come up with a way of redefining these spaces using my own logo. Stay tuned!

Drawing Environment #1

Medium: Mixed Media
Dimensions: variable
Date: 2006
This is a photograph of Drawing Environment #1. I am taking the idea of a studio and creating an environment where the "studio" is a work of art in itself and acts as a staging area for drawings and other "art" situations. The drawings, paintings, and installation elements are completely interchangeable. This is why I am showing the elements of the studio in both fragment and whole form. Drawing Environment #1 will be completed after I have shown it in a market-oriented situation and the work is sold and/or transported into another environment.
